Rodaina El Shami - La Redazione
LOBNA: Ok, another question… According to you, which are the main differences between our Italian School and your School?
TEREZA: Our School is definitely smaller than your School, we have a lot of laboratories, but they are smaller than yours.
PAVLINA: yes.. in general we spend much more time in our lab, a lot of hours..
ROMAN: Another difference is that our Secondary Technical School implies a four-year-full-time study programme, while you have been studying here for five years. Furthermore, I think that we have more lessons per week…
TEREZA: The subjects in our School are very similar.. but some of your subjects are not separated from other subjects…
ROMAN: For example, we have Gnathology but this is included in a different subject. On the other side, we don’t have a subject called Dental Design… We have this subject only during our first year.
MARA: But do you know a subject called Material Science?
ROMAN: Yes of course.
TEREZA: I think that our School is also more focused on the acquisition of the foreign language, especially English… Considering this subject, we have, like…6 hours per week
LOBNA: What about the organization of the classes and the laboratories?
TEREZA: Maybe we have less students in every laboratory. In general there are 10 students for every laboratory and one teacher.
PAVLINA: Yes.. and there are more classes (Lab) working at the same time.
LOBNA: How many sections for each grade do you have?
TERESZA: We have just one class for every field of study that can include more subjects.
MARA: I have another question for you. What is like to have only girls in your classroom?
ROMAN: It’s really nice. I have to say that we have built a good relationship during these years in our class. We had just one boy, he was friendly, but he moved to America to study, so, at the moment, in our class there are only girls. I would say…I don’t mind..
TEREZA (laughing): yeah… but when some kind of drama starts, everyone is interested.
ALL THE GIRLS AGREE AND LAUGH
ROMAN: Yeah, it’s true…but luckily there are no fights or something like that…so it’s fine I would say.
MARA: The first time we went outside together there was a fight and everyone was looking!
ROMAN: In our School there are just 30 boys and girls everywhere.
RODAINA: I would say that also in our School there are more girls than males. Furthermore, a lot of students come from Egypt or Morocco.
PAVLINA: We did not expect to meet so many girls.. Our Laboratory Teacher had told us that this School was manly attended by male students..
MARA: This cultural diversity really characterizes the classes of our Professional School, the classes of Lyceum are different, there is not such cultural diversity. Students are mainly Italian and in some classes of the Lyceum there are even more male students than female students. Yeah… and considering the mechanical field of our Professional School, the classes are mainly composed of male students.
ROMAN: This is another important difference. Considering our classes, almost all the students come from Czech Republic.
